Troy Blackwell

Troy Blackwell obtained his bachelor degree in business administration in 1992 from the University of Texas in Austin, and his law degree from the Texas Tech University School of Law in 1995. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, the Panhandle Bankruptcy Bar Association, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and he is an associate member of the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees. He is licensed to practice by the Supreme Court of Texas and before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. 

Troy is a frequent commentator on debt and bankruptcy issues. He has presented programs and/or authorized papers presented at CLE events and to various legal groups including the Family Law section of the Amarillo Bar Association, the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, the Panhandle Bankruptcy Bar Association, the West Texas Bankruptcy Bar Association and the National Association of Chapter 12 Trustee’s, and the Amarillo Young Lawyers Association’s “People’s Law School”.

In 2003, Troy formed the Blackwell Law Firm L.L.P. Along with his dedicated and experienced staff of legal assistants, Mr. Blackwell can present options to individuals frustrated and overwhelmed by their monthly bills, giving them a plan of action to help them become debt and anxiety free.
